Troop 1699 has made reservations for 48 scouts and 29 adults

Troop 1699 has made reservations for 50 scouts and 30 adults.

If you are are going to Summer Camp make sure you have each of the following:

Merit Badge courses

First year scouts will be doing the Trail to First Class program plus two Merit Badges (probably Swimming, which is Eagle Required, and Leatherwork)

All other Scouts will be able to choose their own.  A good rule of thumb is to take 1 Eagle required plus 2 or 3 others.

If  your Scout is ambitious, he can take more Eagle Required.

The idea is to choose courses which will be fun and educational.  Your scout should get the merit badge book for the courses he will be taking.  These may be available from the Troop library.

Review prerequisites for merit badges before going to camp.  If there are things you can do before camp, i.e. reports or papers, you should get them done and bring them to camp.  These will be discussed with the Scouts in detail as they sign-up.  Some have homework which must be done before arrival to camp.
